Genesis The seed of Reflection and Action was planted in the early 80’s. Margreet Poulie was inspired by the self-narrative theory of Dr. Hubert Hermans to create a bridge between theory and practice and started her search for a broad and deep application of valuation theory and self-confrontation method. In 1991, her Ph.D. dissertation: New light on the Fear of Failure. The Valuation of the Individual, was completed, (Nijmegen University) In 1994, R & A, Inc., was incorporated as a limited company. In 1999, R & A expanded to give SKM education programs for SKM coaching. With the birth of this education process, the second-generation of self-narrative methodology was developed—the Self-Knowledge Method. In 2005, following 11 years of leadership by dr. Margreet Poulie, R &A Education, Netherlands expanded to become a partnership venture with Dr. Toos van Huijgevoort, and Fransje Thio, (M.Sc.). Initiatives to expand R & A network to Canada, Denmark, Israel, and U.S.A in 2006 have begun. In values, mission and vision, R & A partners are committed to high-standards of coaching, education, product development, and contribution to development of the field.
